Welcome to St Andrew’s

Are you looking for a better world? A world where all people are treated equally whoever they are? Do you believe in the God of love not hate, of hope not fear? Are you searching for mystery and meaning, for spirituality and prayer. Do you want to share difficult questions and not just be given easy answers? We believe that these are the values of Jesus and we try to live by them.

St Andrew’s is a Christian Church in the liberal Catholic tradition of the Church of England. We pride ourselves on being generously orthodox and we enjoy the rich symbolism of traditional worship.  We seek to give a warm welcome to all people, irrespective of race, age, gender, physical ability, way of life or sexual orientation. We are an inclusive church.

Since 1887, St. Andrew’s has stood as a beacon of God’s light and love in East London. We rejoice in the great and wonderful diversity of God’s creation and we celebrate the beauty of God’s image uniquely revealed in one another.

“God is love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God,

and God in them.” 1 John 4:16

On this website you will find details of our services and activities, our values and our vision, and we very much look forward to welcoming you in person to our beautiful Church and to our open and hospitable community.

Fr Paul Kennington, Associate Priest
